one of my stories part 1

the rain was falling hard and to kate the night seemed darker than ever before. she was so tired of running but if she stopped they would get her for sure. finally hearing trafic kate had thoughts of safety. seeing the street ahead of her, gave her a boost of energy and she ran harder and faster towards it. the next thing kate knew she was on the wet cold ground with a warm throbbing in her left shoulder. knowing instantly that her persuer was closer than she had thought. he must have a silencer on his gun because she didnt hear the pop of the gun. not wanting to die and unwilling to wait for him to catch up she got to her feet and continued towards the street ahead. bursting through the people on the side walk kate stumbled into the road, right infront of a car. kate heard the honk of the car before everything went blank. by the time the driver had stopped a crowd had gathered. the driver and his passenger rushed to the womans aid. they found her lying on her back, as the male driver crouched over her she opened her eyes. kate looked deep into his brown eyes "help me" she croacked. the eyes had a very sothing voice to go with them "whats your name" they asked but as she tried to say her name she passed out.

whispers began to circulate through the crowd "is that him" "oh my god its". he couldnt focus on the rest of what was being said but he knew what they were saying Nick Walker, the famous singer had hit that poor woman. the passenger had already called an ambulance. the passenger was Nicks bodyguard and friend. well built stocky man in his mid thirties towered above nick. it wasnt long before he noticed the wound in her shoulder a through and though gun shot wound. he wispered to nick what he saw and told him to act like he hadnt noticed as it was a fresh wound and the shooter may be in the crowd still. the crowd were still whispering as nick tended to kate and jack his bodyguard searched the crowd. along with the ambulance the police also showed up and as the paramedics took care of kate nick was questioned by the officer.

straight away the officer knew who nick was as his daughter was a huge fan. "can you tell me what happened here sir" the officer asked. nick answered by telling him how kate had run out into the road and how he had no time to stop and had hit her. as the officer was writing it all down jack approached and introduced himself. "there is something else you should know officer" he began. "the woman has a wound on her left shoulder i believe is from a gun shot" he added.
just then the paramedic came over and told them " we are taking her to LA county". the officer nodded to show he heard him. "do you know who shot her" the paramedic asked. the officer replied"no not yet. how is she". "not looking good" was the answer he got. the paramedic turned to nick and told him he should also go to the hospital and get his wound seen to. nick hadnt even noticed he was injured. he had a gash on his forehead that was trickling blood down his face. the paramedic told him he could go with them but they only had room for him his bodyguard would need to follow. so jack stayed and gave the report and nick went with kate to the hospital.
